Default 325bhp from a standard classic?

Trying to buy an Impreza is a difficult game when you don't know what you're looking at but what on earth is going on here? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2019470.htm

My classic has some tasty bits on it so I'm looking at breaking it and putting my bits onto a classic sti and this caught my attention because the horsepower met my spec's expectations so I thought it had all the right bits but I was wrong lol. Don't get me wrong it's a lovely car but where on earth did that power figure come from?

Just what I was thinking, think of a figure! I love version 3's but I don't want a wagon. I'm either looking for a white sti or a 555 to stick some of my parts on to if I break mine and get another.

nice car but if its not exactly what u want mate hold out. why u breaking yours? is it still giving you trouble? i like the colour of yours didnt really get to see it much last time. i might be being stupid but the clocks in that white sti u got the ad for look like Auto clocks with the strip between rev counter and speedo?

If you love v3's why are you looking at that version 2
Think the figures are all made up, 272bhp standard, cdb? not on that car unless its had the engine replaced, an exhaust is good, but 53bhp good? nope.
Keep on looking, it may have a folder full of reciepts (which is good), but if the owner has no clue about the car, that puts me off

93-94 yes, 95, maybe, version 2 STI's, very very doubtful, original STI's I'd say yes.

That is a nice car by the looks of it, the grandad of customer group n impreza's, a bit of history there.

325Hp is easy on that turbo, but since it only has a full decat and nothing else, I'd say its around the 260HP mark. The OE injectors max out at 300HP on OE fuel pressure for a start.

That car as a Vers 2 STi type RA ought to have a closed deck block, but is by no means a definite. The later versions as the block were running out went over to an early open deck block.

We've never touched the engine internally, so cannot confirm one way or the other. But it is a seriously nice car that has been well maintained all of the time it has been local to us.
