help my99uk turbo head gasket
Can anybody help please my car has just started to get very hot very fast after only going about a quarter of a mile. and also the water in radiater keeps going down, it must be going somewhere is there anyway of checking if its the head gasket that has gone without taking it in for a full check up as i dare not drive it because of the over heating problem. if it is the head gasket that has gone how much roughly would it be to put it right.
cheers malco

Firstly, check your oil, see if it looks creamy/frothy. Secondly, have a look in the water overflow tank neck, nerar the battery, is there aything in it that looks a bit like mayonnaise? If the answer to either of these questions is "yes", the c/h gaskets have gone.
If not, try a local garage, ask them for a "sniff test", that will diagnose it properly.
Any chance it could be one of the hoses, split?

It sounds more like you have a hole in the rad or the heater matrix or one of the rubber hoses that connects up the system than head gasket.
check for leaks first.
MY99 - i would be looking towards the rad!

Yep, check hoses & rad first. MY99 blew the original top hose last year, so I changed them all for Samco jobbies. I could not believe how the originals had perished when I fetched them off, I suppose they are 11 years old! Good luck.
