Default New Unusual Noise

I've just had some gauges fitted into my car. And one of them required moving/removing the alternator.

All this has been done successfully, but now I can hear a new noise. It's like a whirring noise which changes pitch slightly when you increase speed. I don't notice it when I am driving at 60. But guess thats due to engine and exhaust noise.

I'm guessing my alternator belt might be on to tight. But I'm worrying it could be my turbo.

If my turbo was to say be on its way out would the noise be a lot more audible. I don't notice any difference when its under boost.

I'm thinking of popping her to garage to find out.

Forgot to mention my car is a STI MY99 V5.

Also the guy pressure steam washed the engine bay. So not sure if its because of that.
