Maybe a stupid question but had to ask!

Where do the cables from a downpipe go when fitting a decat?
I've got a decat downpipe to be fitted to my classic, what happens to all the wires attached to the current downpipe with cats?

What age classic? The early ones only had a cat temperature sensor (sometime called a cat-on-fire sensor). This just gets cable tied out the way as it is not needed. I know later classics are different, but I've never de-catted a later classic.

I'm really not sure if the Lambda sensor is located there, I'm not mechanically minded at all to be honest, trying to get the downpipe and center section changed but on a budget. This month has been a real headache!
Thanks for the replys lads.
By the way anyone know somewhere local to West London that may change it cheaply?

From what I remember 5 years ago when I did mine (1995 WRX), the Lambda sensor was further back in the centre section (definately not in the downpipe). I cable tied the temp sensor out of the way and had to plug a sensor hole in the de-cat down pipe with a short bolt.
The worst part of the job was removing the bolts/nuts where it attaches to the turbo. It was a nightmare from what I remember. I have also read on here about people shearing off studs on the turbo, so if you aren't 100% sure it may be worth biting the bullet and paying someone who knows what they are doing to do the job.
