Question Used VF35 buying advice

What do i need to look out for when buying a used VF35 turbo? I gather i should be able to get one for £300. Does anyone do recon ones and if so how much are they? Cheers

you will never know what condition it is in until you fit it and get it mapped onto the car.

Things to check, well not much really, the amount of play in the main shaft?, a small amount of play is usual i think. But this is not really going to give you any real idea how well the turbo will work. For instance, it may only boost to a limited level and not the level the mapper desires.

I hve not heard of recon units for sale

if your getting a VF35 you will need to have the wasgate ported and an uprated actuator for it also. This is to solve boost creep that these have issues with.

I picked one up for £250 that had done 40k miles. on a 53plate
