brought my first classic scooby wrx last week and 150miles later the bottom end started knocking(70miles of them woz the drive home)
if that wasnt bad enuff i put a wanted thread on here and received loads of genuine replys(thanks guys)
i received a reply from TOMTIT88 who had a rebuilt engine for sale,so i travelled 397miles round trip to fetch it,7 hours later im home with my new engine
the next day i took it to the garage along with my scoobs and left it to be fitted, the following day receive a phone call from the garage and guess what???
melted piston and really bad camshaft seal leak......
i contacted TOMTIT88 and he replyed "no refund sorry to say"
£1000 down and he said that!!!
TOMTIT88 IS ONE BIG TIT!!!!!

Take him to court: as he appears to be a dishonest man.
With regards to the original engine failing.....Id be inclined to put this down to new owners enthusiasm. Many engines fail in days with new owners, thatd have lasted indefinitely with the original owner. Its the same with many quick turbocharged cars.

ive just read his posting and thread history, he knew that the engine was knackered! I am going to be in Wales early next week and wont mind pouring Nitromors over his bodywork for ya free of charge
It's scamming scum like tomtits88 that make it difficult to buy off other members these days and they need to learn that there is a price to pay

Small claims court can take years before this is resolved, can not believe you have not taken the engine back to him.No need to set his car alight as he will get a insurance payout.DEMAND your money back, and if you have no joy actions will always spk louder than words. This t**t has had £1000 off you,and you've got a shagged engine ,sorry i ,but i would be straight down there with the knackered engine and coming back home with my money or a night in the cells charged with section 18 . There is a recession on ,and i imagine most people have not got a £1000 to give away.
Tell him the garages findings, and suggest he either:1. refund your money or 2.take the engine back and get the work done. Sorry but cant see any other option.
