Default What is Subaru's definition of 'Hard Driving' and when does this become abuse?

I have never really been all that clear on this TBH.

As I haven't had my STI too long this morning was the first time I really pushed it.

I hadn't really tested its 6th Gear at the high end before today. It left me Biggus Smilus.

But it got me wondering what exactly Subaru regard as hard driving and when does this become abuse.

I'd imagine 'abuse' would be classed as bouncing off the limiter, launches, power slides, burn outs etc etc

Hard driving I would class as shifting through the rev range at high revs, driving at top speeds, accelerating quickly etc

I only give mine some when getting on the motorway, but tend not to go past 6k and don't really give it much in first gear to try and prolong the life of the clutch.

'hard driving' imo is - hard launches, redlining, holding high revs, hard braking and cornering...................
it becomes abuse when everytime you drive, you drive like it's a trackday.

I drive mine casually. Though other drivers expext me to thrash it. Hence the tailgaiting. But I do have my occasional hard drive, to clear the cobwebs.

That pretty much what I'm like. I get people trying to push me all the time tho or just trying to 'prove' they are faster in their small hatch or people carrier.

I dont know really. Just take it easy as its my daily drive at the moment.

And my wallet has a big hole in it somewhere. There is always less in it than I remember every time I open it.
