Private plate R700 WRX - Shall i sell with the car?
Hi Im am selling my Dark Blue 98 WRX wagon soon.
It has a plate R700 WRX which would attract more interest on Ebay etc.
The car is in fantastic condition mechanically and only has a few very minor exterior car parking dinks. Crystal lights and royal/mica blue two toned styling which looks really classy and not chavvy like some of the stickered up ones i have seen out there
i have had a look on several sites and they looking at between £500 and £1000+ for similar plates (not many about now with R000's). A bit of a large gap but these things seem to sell high to the right buyers. WRX in it looks fantastic especially on the front as its split and the WRX is at the bottom.
What do you recon i should do? I personally think its better to sell it separately but it may boost the cars value/interest with an online sale

I should get a ridiculous quote from them tomorrow and a month of them hassling me judging by the last time i asked for a valuation!

I would sell it privately mate.
You'll mak emuch more money.
Not sure what it's worth though. It's hard to say as some simliar plates are going for anything from £344 to £850.

Exactly, just having a chat with my mechanic (Subaru specialist - Cadnam garage) and he said the same thing.

£299 to £399 from the DVLA without the hassle of plate transfer. Sell it with the car.

Have they actually offered you this as a purchase or valued it at that, usually reg transfer companies will value the plate (optimistically) and then put it on thier lists/ads to attract a buyer unless it is a real special reg (DAVE 1 ROB 1 AML 1 etc which this isn't really

Use your noggin' £105 to put back on retention on a plate worth c.£300 privately. Reg transfers are a waste of time don't kid yourself ££££greedy. Personally I'd leave it on the car, although WRX plates are a bit meh ! and may actually deter buyers with money. Offer it up cheap £200+ and hope to make a quick £100 or adjust your car asking accordingly.
