blob eye intercooler on classic??

can anyone tell me if a wrx intercooler is a straight swap onto a my00 classic, and is it worthwhile? dont want to muck about with the sti ones as u need brackets and undertrays etc etc, and they cost loads more than the wrx ones, car will be running circa 300bhp once mapped so thinking of upgrading the top mount.

WRX = relatively pointless and difficult. STI = very worthwhile but equally difficult. Good for well beyond 400bhp though.

Rather than change to a blob wrx intercooler,why not go for a MY 99/00 sti intercooler with Y pipe.Wont give you mega bhp ,but will be a slight improvement on the std item & better air flow.Also readily available,quite cheap ,& straight bolt on.
