Default Fuel economy

Hi guys,

Just wondered what sort of economy I should expect out of my 02 WRX? I put £30 in last week which took me to just about 1/2 a tank, very slightly under. I put some more in today as the fuel light came on last night and the needle was on the minimum line when I had driven to work, the mileage counter said I had done about 117 miles I think it was. Im a bit thick with maths and have no idea what that should equate to in mpg, but my partner reckons its excessive?

I have in the main driven reasonably sensibly, but have put my foot down a bit on the dual carriageways on the way to and from work to be honest.

Any ideas?????????????????

your calculations will be vague unless you brim the tank, zero the trip, use the tank, brim it again and note how many miles you did...

so as a rough calc, if you did 117miles on £30, that equates to 3.9miles per pound, fuel is about £5.50 a gallon, so 5.50 x 3.9 = 21.45mpg-ish.

I know this dosn`t help but........

If i`d have personally gone for economy i would have gone for a diesel.

Mine dosn`t give me a good mpg (Jap 280 bhp).
But puts a big on my face when i drive her.

I enjoy every minute i`m out driving, and the waves from other owners.

But i recon around 22 to 25 is about right.

I just wondered because of my partner saying it was exessive and I just wanted to know if it was running about right or if there was something wrong.

Hi Tammy i have on my WRX 2002 LPG(with bigger injectors, which are rated to 380 BHP),which cost 900£ all in,but worth every penny,300 miles on full tank LPG for 25£(41L).Everybody says its not for Subaru(but i have friend here in London, which have LPG on 400BHP EVO X),or everybody says about massive power drop(on my i have 6-7% power drop comparing to Petrol).

When I first bought mine, way back in May 2000 I thought someone was stealing my fuel overnight .... for 2 weeks I sat through the night in the porch with baseball bat in hand to sort out the ba**ards!!

I now have a Honda Civic Diesel with more Torque than an Impreza, and, amazingly, someone (I wonder if it's the same person) is now sneakily putting fuel IN my car!! I'm going to let them continue

how about 33 mpg and that's a mix of driving, but avoiding any short or stop/start journeys. MY01 WRX fully standard.
