Default BRAND NEW WR1

How much do you think a WR1 with 500 miles on the clock is worth!

About 14k? its not one of the "sort after" cars, now say you had a 22B with 500 miles on the clock, that would hold its money

12k ish i'd guess but i wouldn't buy one, i'd prefer one with 30k on the clock to one with 500, you'd need to do all the seals, tyres, belts, fluids and theres no gaurenties the engine wont go bang the first time you floor it (or very quickly) due to the components not getting properly run in (sat there doing nothing for years on end isn't running it in) yet they still will have the 5 years of degredation

And the warranty is long gone ...........

These cars are a curiosity rather than a suitable everyday car - a show car it would be perfect for.

So, it would be a plaything for showing off on a stand at shows ... £10k?

Remember those guys with the Jag XJ220? kept it as it would increase in value, just locked away, unfortunately it plummeted instead never used it, waste of a car if you ask me, same with this one, why buy if you dont use it, less than 100 miles a year, bleeding stupid git of an owner.

Agreed, for it to have FSH it would have to be serviced every 6 months with an average 40 odd miles between services, lol.

Did they keep filling it will running in oil every time!?

I agree, about half of what the advert states.

Hard to believe a six year old car hasn't been properly run in yet

It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it....which in my case is not a lot because I have never been a fan of the WR1...now if it was a 22B or a P1...

It would be interesting to see if the services were carried out - surely it should have had its CamBelt replaced at the very least? Brake fluid changed, coolant changed?

At £21,000 it's a nasty trap for someone - it wouldn't surprise me if it went BANG on the very first trip of any distance .... cars just hate being sat there.

Remember, things like the Tyres ... yes, they will have tread, but what about the ageing process? Cracked sidewalls and suchlike ... even a flat edge where it has been sat for years?

It could well be worth LESS than a well used one, it will probably be a lot less reliable.

Anyway, the seller cannot spell ... which worries me ... "ORIGIONAL"? ... "NEGOCIABLE"? ... try again, Jon

and didn't they do a second run so there were actually 1000 of them and not 500 as the original purchasers were led to believe....

Eh?! It's only done 500 miles so there can't be wear & tear on any parts.

probably meant as to keep warranty intact it's 1 yr or 10,000 miles whichever comes sooner.
personally, I changed the cambelt on 50K not after 5 yrs, which in my case was 7 yrs.

The colour has probably contributed to it not being such a desirable car.

wow I never thought about any of that I thought it was a good price for a rare car in almost new condition... you guys must be right as you pretty much all said the same thing, a time bomb waiting to go off unless you spends loads of cash on it, er apart from the 20k purchase price! Maybe i´ll stick with my 30000miler sti. Cheers

Don't think so, i think the P1's were increased to 1000, from 500 though.

There were 1000 Solberg edition cars made, 500 were allocated to the UK to be transformed into the WR1 (they started off with antracite 17 inch STI wheels and 265ps), the rest were spread about europe, there is the odd one or two in the UK but there was never any other allocation other than the 500 for the WR1.

To be honest I think it would need a Main Stealer service to replace all seals, belts, liquids etc at a cost of about £1500. 4 new tyres at £800. If you bought this car you would begruge driving it and putting miles on it.

Unless it was going into a collection I wouldn't bother. Buy a low mileage one with 24k on for about £14k.

It's not a scam, I have met the owner a few times. He has quite a varied collection of cars including a Maestro turbo ,a couple of Tickford Capri's and a delivery mileage RB320.
