Hi mat i have a my2007 wrc with standard brakes and discs. Looks like i have no reason to complain then the only other thing is one off the rear springs as gone so I'm getting that done on the warranty.

My type R is about 50% though its original pads (maybe 60%) car has done 31k
I should mention that if your that heavy on your brakes that your going through pads at 4-5k miles, you need to change how you drive, far too agressive on the brakes, you could probably drive better if you thought about it a bit more

I got 32k out mine, only one pad was down to the quick rest had a few mm left on them. Like Tony B said you run pads in properly and drive as far ahead as you can see plan your braking, pads will last at lest 25k. Modern pads are carbon based and almost as hard as the discs. i found at 32k my discs were down 2-3mm so put on new discs and pads from Ian Godneys group buy £111 ish delivered bargin. They are a improvment over standard set up, pads are kevlar discs are grooved. As to your original question, i would say 30k normal.

I was taught to drive without using the brakes ..... and to remember there is a raw egg under the accelerator pedal. That's why I genuinely got over 65k miles out of my front set and over 85k out of the rears.
