have i used them before? no. if you are going to the expense of getting it rebuilt get it done properly use someone like API or engine tuner, using the cheapest company isnt always best.

I'd be a bit wary....... SMR engine, Mr Engine, Ideal engine, nippon autospares etc. All meant to supply recon engines but just send out crud. I'm not saying they all do, but would sugest doing your homework.

As mentioned 'd go for a rebuild then at least you know what's being done to your pride and joy

If you say 'David OBrien' three times, then he appears, like the Candyman!

Its sounds like the good old story of if its sounds to good to be true it probably is. I just cant help but feel that there must be some half decent engines out there, from crashed cars etc. Lets face it we're not all Collin McRae! The whole story is that I have alredy had an engine from SMR its in my car right now with blown head gasket, I now just dont trust it and wonted to use the original engine. I have had the worst luck with this car you wouldn't beleive, addmitingly due to a few bad decisions on my behalf! I cant bring my self to spend near £2500 on this car. My original plan was the nurgergring, if I ever get there they will be the most expensive laps of my life!!!!!

Jay @ scoobybits is a reputable guy, but depending on what you want, I would speak t EngineTuner or API for a rebuild - do it right & it will be done once & for all.
