How loud can you go?
Got my car professionally monitored today - 93dB at 5k rpm and 80.5db at Idle. Thats with a cat back system (afterburner mid, Ninja 2 backbox)
Thats 0.5m from the tail pipe at a 45 degree angle.
As a base point - A live motorway is usually measured at around the 80dB level.

LOl - I've already had a 'friendly' warning from one of my neighbours about it. I'm not to drive it before 8am over the weekend. TBH I dont think there is hope in hell of that happening!

Just as a ballpark, I know the 'ring has an 80db limit for its use, although that is rarely stuck too as far as i've seen while there, normally to kick people off who are being silly beggars at the toll gates. Limit in UK public before it becomes applicable "Anti-Social" is around 95db afaik.

Forgot to mention, there was also a Civic 1.6l - fully kitted out with a Spoon engine and all the extras and a straight through exhaust. Came in at over 100dB. The car has also been featured in a few mags and is in immaculate condition. Gets through a tank in three days though!

Nur Spec noise levels come down over time.
Mine was 104db at SSO a couple of years ago, with the bung in. A year after that it was 98.9db, with the bung out.
Noise regs are mental at Elvington, so I would assume the kit Straightliners use to measure noise is accurate.

Used a noise monitor from work - we do noise monitoring to establish noise levels of various roads and motorways in relation to peoples properties, so the equipmen has to be accurate.
Nothing like driving round a ****hole at 1am in the morning wating for the 15min countdown.
