security idea

I've had an idea! (yes they do happen)
Whilst 'reading' FHM last night I came across a thing called an 'AL22'.
This is (what looks like) a simple torch, however it has a trick up it's sleeve. Simply point it a would-be scum and it will blind them for 5 minutes and this thing is legal!
I wonder if this could somehow be integrated into a car alarm, maybe have it removable so that if goes into the drivers footwell pointing at the would-be scum position? What do you reckon?
The cost (I think) is £295 with 6 spare bulbs...
ta,
Matt

If your car alarm did that to a potential thief, and they decided that they couldn't nick your car - they'd probably take out their frustration on the car.
Plus - what happens if your temporarily blinded thief gets out of the car and wanders in front of a passing car.
He could probably sue you (if he survived).
I'm not sticking up for the scum who target our cars, but tis maynot be the best way to put them off.

It is a pretty bad situation for me to even think of it... what makes it even harder is that the scum have rights... sod the rights, blind em and give them a few digs with the baseball bat, they wouldn't know who had done it would they
