Default screamer pipe

hey guys, i have heard it is possible to fit a screamer pipe on a standard turbo with a internal wastegate.just wondered as anyone has had a go at this as normally it is only possible to do on external wastegates.thanks for any help as im new to all this

Please don't, screamer pipes are seriously annoying for tuners.

what does the screamer pipe do and is it any good?.......will be interested to see whats put here mate

They make a lot of noise, they blow exhaust fumes everywhere, and it plays hell with lambda probes.

i think i remember GRD (greenwood racing developments) doing a decat downpipe with a built in screemer for the stanrdad turbo

They stopped as it was really hard to map properly i think James told me

will it need remapping as well then cuz i just assumed that it was exhaust gases leaving the wastegate the same as it does through the exhaust, except though a smaller pipe in this case i agree they r loud but sound awesome

If you connect it into a pipe leading to the heater system that will quickly cure the problem.

Cheers 4 the informative vid. Best was is defo new turbo with external wastegate but with a baby on the way funds r restricted n just wondered if there is a way to fit a screamer pipe to a standard turbo.

Yes. You can purchase an up-pipe fitted for an external wastegate, then either weld or use a bracket to keep the stock internal wastegate shut. I have a VF39 with the internal wastegate kept closed with a steel bracket, and a 38 mm Tial V-band external wastegate.

so u mean just weld shut the internal one, fit an external wastegate to the standard turbo and run the pipe off that? sounds like a lot of work lol
