STi Type UK
Let's say it's got 16,000 miles on it ....
It's a Private Sale ....
One Owner ....
2008 on an 08 Plate ....
Condition as one would expect ....
What should be looked at first?
Did these require the re-flash on the ECU?
And the most asked question on SN .... what's it worth?

After all there is no point buying an STi to drive it like an old man, drive it like you stole it Pete.

I will not drive it like I stole it ...... it will be driven gently - if I decide to match the WeBuyAnyCar.com offer for it, that is.
Not sure if it will be any better than my Classic, in all honesty - I know that sounds daft, but I see so many on here yearning for their old Classic back .... don't want to be £13,650 down and have no classic anymore (as I simply couldn't replace mine again).

I have driven a few classics in my time the best being an STi type RA and I have to say it is a totally different beast to even my S202, the RA was much more raw and aggresive , whereas the S202 is more civilised even though it is a limited edition lightweight track focused car.

I did think £14,000 was a bit high ..... they claim to have paid the best part of £28,000 for it less than 3 years ago - but, I suppose, a 50% loss is about right?

Hi Newbie ..... 10 years of SNetting, as you rightly say. That would only be a valid point had the HatchBacks been available in the year 2000 .... which, of course, they weren't. So your post falls flat on its nose
Tx - is it too much, do you think? It isn't 2 years old anyway ... it is 12 weeks away from its 3rd birthday - and it's 1st MOT. Cars with effectively a 12 week MOT don't tend to be worth a great deal. WeBuyAnyCar have offered £13,650 - so I assume that's the value? I ask here in case there is a difference between that value and what they actually sell for ...... MX5's are the same, the good ones sell for far above book.
Don't see what all the cuffuffle is over requesting some info on a car?

Can a car registered in 2008 really be 3 years old in 2010 ? Mines MY08 and its only 2 years old in July . Check dealer net work prices , not much under £19k Webuyanycar are taking the p**s if you can buy a UK STI hatch for that take his hand off then sell privatley for a nice profit at your leisure.
I am getting on, remember!
It would seem that Webuyanycar are taking the mickey in that case - but, I can assure you they are bidding £13,650.
Have you any idea how hard these cars are to sell on? Nigh on impossible is the answer.

I dont doubt the offer mate, if they are prepared to buy quickly and hassle free. The down side is an offer well under market value . That a side, if you fancy a new car to keep that would be a steal. I really dont want to know what mines worth now, ill just go on deluding myself lol. Are you serious about buying it ?

Haven't actually driven it yet truth be known .... just it is struggling to get any interest whatsoever, in fact zero interest.
No-one wants them it seems - is the the Tax? the fuel costs? Insurance? .... they have got so expensive .... there is also the worry that Subaru may well pull out of the UK - then, see what happens to prices!
At least my MY00 Classic isn't losing a penny anymore!

You're right ..... it's 2 years old - not nearly 3!
I am getting on, remember!

Of course, it only has one owner - folder full of history and is a non-messed-about-with UK example.
The MY99 and MY00 were the best of the Classics ....
