Default Uprated Acuator for JDM STI Worth Doing?

Hi

I am getting a few more bits put on my STI next month

Its currently

2005 JDM STI
Green Filter
Catless Miltek exhaust

Thinking about getting an uprated actuator and adding on a 3 port boost solenoid and a fuel pump.

Then getting it all remapped to suit.

Is the actuator worth doing?

Thanks

When I owned a standard Spec C, Bob Rawle advised me to change the following before he remapped it:

RCM decat zorst.
Induction kit.
Uprated fuel pump.
Uprated actuator (gets sent of for some mods).
3 port boost solenoid.

If it's good enough for Bob ...

TX.

What will the actuator and 3port boost solenoid actually do for a car - layman's terms please...

My understanding is that it helps the mapping (more accurate, smoother etc) rather than giving more power

I understood it also allows you to run slightly higher boost over what the standard one was happy with doing...

What power you getting from you Spec C?

As that will be exactly the mods I would have bar I am missing your bearing turbo...

Adequate control can be given by the OE boost controller and actuator (assuming the OE actuator is still doing what it should do) via the the OE ECU, for the mods you are prescribing.

I'm assuming you already have a modified map for the existing cat less exhaust Vash?

Bob is a huge fan of the 3 port boost solenoid over the OEM unit... faster and more accurate control of boost he told me (320 map on 2003 UK STI)

Not worth it, especially if you're not doing the mapping yourself. Save your money, or put it towards an uprated turbo.
