Question

I'm looking at one tonight, and its bound to blow me away, but how much are they actually worth? The one I'm looking at is a 00W with 12k on the clock.

Also, if anyone out there is selling a low miles example with big brakes, drop me a msg!

Depends where you buy it from - you'll struggle @ a dealers for less than £24 - 25K.

This next bit is my opinion and I do prepare to get badly flamed for it!!!

If you buy one from here you should get one for 5 pence cos everyone slags your car off and tells you to 'get realistic' with the price of it...

ho hum.

You can buy mine if you want - 11K miles, fssh, standard car apart from full HKS super dragger exhaust & downpipe, £500 alpine cd head unit, you can also have the standard exhaust if you want, with the cats, it has the upgraded prodrive p1 backbox too.

mail me or reply if your interested.

A car is worth what ever you are prepared to pay for it. I have paid over the odds for cars in the past because I wanted that particular car. Funny people will tell you what a good deal they got and then you find out they are paying 20% APR on finance .

I almost agree. I think a car is worth whatever you can reasonably expect to sell it for within a resonable timeframe

Try looking for a P1 either privately where the car doesnt usually collect its full market value or look at dealers that dont specialise in scoobies.
I live in North London and due to the recent car jackings, scoobies just do not sell. An Alfa Romeo dealer had 2001 P1, 13K miles, totally stansard mint condidtion and was up for £25000 four weeks ago. On friday night when i drove past price had gone down to £21995..... Is it the end of the P1 price war??????/

Red face

Hmm, just took one for a razz and was a little disappointed believe it or not. This is after driving a Pug 406 for a year too!

The last Scoooby I drove was a STi-4 Type-R with unknown mods, although I think it might have been chipped. Is the suspension and drivetrain significantly different on the type-R to the P1? It just seemed to flow through the corners so much better than the P1. The STi engine seemed to deliver power a lot more effortlessly too - the P1 was often off the boil. Oh, and the standard brakes were a bit poor too but I was expecting that!

So did I drive a dud? Is the new STi worth considering instead?

Yours, somewhat perplexed after reading all the reviews,
- J

The P1 started life as an STi 5 Type R and was remapped for UK fuel and suspension for UK roads, I think the gear ratios were changed. What you probably find most different were the gear ratios which make a difference but make high speed crusing in the type R a bit more of a effort tahn the P1. Standard for standard not much in it though.

cheers

Hmm, I dunno then. Perhaps the suspension was all to bollocks and it needed a service? I think I'll book an Evo VII test drive

Question

Do they run on super or regular premium unleaded? Salesman told me super, but I've just had a look at a webpage that says 95RON

If you want the optimum performance you need to run it on SUL. I think youll find most P1 owners on here run their beasts on Shell Optimax (98.5ish RON compared to 97 for normal SUL).

I use millers octane plus from Mike Tuckwood @ scoobymania and seems to go quite nicely with optimax .
