Hi, is there such thing as a 2 door na classic shape impreza? Was thinking of doing a ej20 turbo engine & running gear swap into one but not even sure they exist lol can't afford to buy or insure a p1 or type r etc so was thinking this. Any help will be much appreciated.

there was a 2door on ebay about 6mths ago and it was actually a 1.6
don't know where it came from but it was defo 2drs and defo a 1.6 it was red and sold for £2200

There was a jdm 2 door retna bodied na car........sure it was a 1.6.

Japan have a 1600 2 door. Seen a few imported and converted

As Rooferman mentioned it was called the "Retna" and was a 1.6 Na 2 door bodyshell (Jap model)

They switched to bodyshell over to the turbo models and the word "Retna" was changed to "Type R" (where R=Retna).

The US market "RS" was a 2.5ltr NA car, never did another one afaik.

ill have a look at retnas i think, see how much they can be had for. I just fancy something a little different from the norm, will be using the car as a daily driver until i can get all the parts together for a turbo/4wd conversion. Insurance on even a classic wrx is still terrible for me, i had a 200sx s13 and insurance was £870, wrx is nearer £3k! would very much doubt if a converted na would be even near that!

Yes it would.

To source a decent engine your looking at at least a £1k. You'll need a new gearbox, rear hubs, diff, shafts, looms, clocks, front brakes and loads of other stuff.

Try A-Plan or Keith Micheals for insurance.
