Default Front number plate

I need to change my front number plate as its too small.

I want to get a stick on one so I can put it on the bumper so it doesn't stop airflow. Are these classed as legal and if so where can I get one?

Thanks.

you have to have the correct font size and spacing but the letters have to be vertical or you will get nicked was told this by my mate whos one of the police interceptors from the show on tv

As long as its the correct font size etc. and visible from the front of the car you should be fine with that.

Stick on number plates are not technically legal even if they are the correct size and font. To be legal the plate must also meet the following spec...

2. On Vehicles first Registered on or after 1 January 1973, Check
a. the colour of the characters and background
b. that the registration plates are fixed vertically, or as close to vertical as is reasonably practical

3. On vehicles first registered on or after 1 September 2001, check that the registration plates
a. display the name and postcode of the supplying outlet
b. display a BSAU145d marking
c. do not display a honeycomb or similar effect background

For earlier cars they don't need all of the extra bumpf that is on the plate, but on the bonnet is not vertical:Brickwall

Would a 3/4 size std plate 390mm X 84mm with a standard uk font and correct spacing be road legal?

Standard size is 520mm X 112mm

Cheers.

100% agree with the above, however I have had a sticker plate on my bonnet for 9months. Have been stopped by the traffs and they have never said a thing about it. MOT might be a problem though.
