HELP WITH MY BOOST READINGS???
HI GUYS IM ADMITTING TO BE A NOVICE WITH MY 1996 IMREZA STI, I WANT TO LEARN AND I KNOW THERES SO MANY EXPERIENCED PEOPLE ON HERE! COULD ANYONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT THESE READING MEAN WITH REGARDS TO HOW MY BOOST IS RUNNING/SET?? AND IF IT LOOKS CORRECT! THESE READINGS WERE WHEN THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND SITTING IDLE! WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR A YEAR AGO THE GUY SAID IT WAS RUNNING AT 0.8 BAR!
YOUR ADVICE IS APPRECIATED!
MARX HERE ARE THE READINGS AS REQUESTED, COULD YOU PM ME WITH YOUR OPINION PLEASE!

Boost measurement is taken at wide open throttle ((WOT) or full throttle) in 4th or 5th gear.
0.8 bar is low for an STI it should be 1.0 to 1.1 bar. 0.8 is standard WRX boost pressure.
Oh and turn your caps off!!

Hey up mate, 0.8 bar is definatly too low anyway, should be 1.1 bar on an STi.
Next time you take the car out, put your foot flat down in 4th and check what the boosy gauge goes up to, dont go to the redline though or you might get a speeding ticket!!

UPDATE guys I went out and floored it in 4th and 5th gear like yous told me to, the digital greddy gauge under my steering wheel read off:
4th gear 0.77
5th gear 0.80
can anyone tell me what this means with regards to my car please? I don't have a clue lol

I think someone has been playing around with the boost controller and set it too low.
Best advice I can give you mate, is to do a search on the internet to find instructions for your Greedy boost controller.
Once you find them check out how to adjust the boost pressure and set it to 1.1 bar

This is what you need to do. Lift up the carpet in the passenger footwell and post up what ecu you have. Myblackwrx will then be able to tell you what standard boost should for your STI. Set your boost controller accordingly and away you go.
0.8 bar is too low for STI and will be running at reduced power.
