Best part of £200 to get it trailered. Use a reputable company (that has liability insurance- in case of any damage getting it on/off)

well it probably starts at £200! Got my old Citroen recovered from kent (ashford) to east london, which is probably about 100 miles of motorway and lots of town traffic! and it cost me £110.00 granted that was 2005. I used Lantern recovery based in north london. It depends who you use and their localisation to the car/your chosen destination. Personally i'd spent the moon to get my baby wherever i need it to be WITHOUT transport damage!

Where you taking it from/to?? If its all motorway it can work out cheaper than lots of traffic stop/starting. They calculate on the cost of the recovery and the time it would take added on. Best to do lots of hunting around buddy!

1.Cost of test
2.Cost of equipment
3.Cost of insurance/tax e.t.c
4.Risk of it all going pear shaped!
..................................i'd trailer personally.
Best of luck mate! Try lots of places and see if you can bounce quotes off of one another.

there is a date (unsure of what the date is) but if you get your licence after the date you can not tow untill you take the test

So if the car trailer is less than 750KG and the cars less than 3.5KG you don't need a licence, that's not bad then. That means i can use a car and trailer to pull my Subaru about without a licence.

Is it a remote control car, 3.5kg is very light

You may want to carefully re read as I don't think what you have above is correct, if the tow vehicle weighs less than 3.5 tonns and the vehicle trailer combo weighs more than 3.5 tonns you need a licence. I suspect a car plus trailer with car is going to be in excess of 3.5 tonns

Join the AA £100 for the year with roadside relay , with this cover where ever you breakdown they will take you to where ever you want, eg nearest garage or HOME . Just rig car so won't start eg get anouther crank sensor damage it and fit to the car mechanic will come out not fix and call a recovery truck remember it must be a flat bed truck .
Used it in Newcasle when car was robbed and found next day car was damaged so called AA and they took car all the way back to Chester to home .

I think you're hoping a bit there...
I think your unlikely to find someone going from Inverness to Devon - so a round trip would be 1256miles at +/- 20mpg towing with a diesel would cost around £320.00 alone when you factor in 3 days for someone to do it and a couple of nights B&B the cost will mount up.

I'd suggest joining the AA...... fit a broken part and give em a call

Cheers
Rob

They aren't stupid, they'll take you to the nearest garage and replace the sensor....

Even thinking of towing a car 628 miles - are you right in the head?

Get it transported, sounds like money's no object anyway

Just say the car in mind is 1.5 tonnes plus a car i dont think the trailer is going to be .5 tonnes, so may well work or be under limit

We had 2 guys come to see my mates Evo 7 with knackered bottom end. The came from Portsmouth and turned up in a 307 no trailor or anything. They bought the car pushed it out his drive onto the kerb and phoned the AA who recovered it to Portsmouth.

Just had a recovery guy turn up at my work (bmw workshop) i asked him and he reconned big money! I was way off! He however has suggested what everyone else said. Sign up to the AA wait a few days then say the car broke down there!! They offer national recovery!

So AA is the best way but if I break down say outside Inverness it's hard to belive they will take my car 600 mile to the bottom of England to get fixed? When I would only be 30 moles from my house
