Shell Drivers Club Points?

Shell Drivers Club Points?
What a waste of time
Decided to pick a card up and register. I then discovered you get 1 point per litre. When you have 500 points, you get £2.50 off fuel
errr that means I'd have to spend 500 x 115.9p per litre = £580, to get £2.50 back. I might save £10.....a year.
Well frankly Shell The Tesco garage is easier to get to.

I have a shell v power card which means i get 2 points per litre, normally every 3 months i get 2000+ points, but this is due to filling works galaxy's on a weekly basis. If it were for my own car i would not have bothered with v power all the time ,probably stuck to tesco's 99 as much more reward on the clubcard points - last year got back £52.00 in clubcard vouchers (food & petrol) ,which helped fill my fuel tank.

That's a coincidence I got offered one of those today. I've been going there for a month or so now and he says to me "do you collect points?" I told him no. He said with the amount you get you should and gave me a card and form. lol.

121.9 a litre in Elgin. I'm sure it's cheaper at the other 2 shell garages in the area, it's just getting to Keith or Nairn to save a couple of pence thats the ball ache. I seem to get a voucher for £2:50 every few months, it really isn't worth it.

I use Shell V-power in the car, which I pay for; and use Shell V-Power diesel in my van which work pays for. Result.
Added result is; I'm not a greedy ****, and all my points go to a good cause

I think a lot of you are missing the point. Firstly you don't get much for free nowadays (so anythings better than nothing). Secondly you all need fuel to put in your cars and if your trying to look after your cars engine, and your using V-Power (rather than 95 as some still do or some other rubbish) then it makes sense to join the club. Doesn't it??
I joined over 20 months ago and only use V-Power fuel in my96 WRX daily driver. I got £7.50 off fuel within the first several months which I didn't think was great so I switched to Ferrari gifts option instead. Last time I checked I had 4100 points odd which is more than enough for some Ferrari merchandise or a Ducatti/Victorianox Ltd edition swiss army knife@4000 points.
Ok some of the things in the catalogue will take the average driver (say 8000-10000miles per annum) along time to save for but atleast your getting something back and it's not that bad really IMO.

I get the regular postings from them and you often find several 300 bonus points vouchers for buying a bit of chewing gum or filling up twice in a month. If you are having to use them (away and no Tesco 99 nearby for example) then you may as well claim it as it is better than nowt!

FPMSL It's hardly worth the effort is it + how much junk mail do you get as a result ... oops I mean targetted mail for things that you no doubt need + how much more does VPower cost you vs T99 (rewards vs no rewards)?

Points Ha !
I'd rather feed my debit card into the pump than enter the premises, queue behind a druggie buying a pastie, and then wait for an "immigrant" to scam my card details....
Sorry I vote NO !
dunx
P.S. I'll manage without the £10 a year (?) savings....

Same issue here: https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...=driver+points
They do give 500 bonus points if you fill up with XX amount of fuel within XX amount of time. Cool, but then they made it stricter and stricter (porbably because I or too many other point collectors qualified for the bonus). The final straw is when they made the bonus point vouchers tokens applicable to Vpower only (used to inlcude 95Ron). I don't use Vpower.
So screw it. I buy Tesco as it goes toward my clubcard points. Every so often I get 5p off every litre; quite handy when I have a car with a 90litre fuel tank
(never got any junk mail via Shell barring the statement, as I'm MPS registered - and I also made sure to tick the correct boxes in the application )
