Sorry about that hixys.

Your original pod went in the post and was lost by the courier.

The UK importer told us they had stock and would send them straight to us, after some chasing, they told us they are out of stock.

Hixys, **** happens,
couriers loose things, get things mixed up. I wouldn't slag a company off on the bbs with 4000+ registered over something so simple,
Relax!!

The simple answer is NO, of course your not the only one.
Owning your own business I thought you might realise that?
You can please all of the people some of the time..... Etc.

If I was not happy with what you had done to me or for me at your garage, I wouldn't bring it on here in front of 4,000 + of your potential customers (with probably double that amount visiting but not registered).

Especially when the answer is so simple.

Now, most (but not all), who know me or have dealt with me will confirm that we do our best and get it right, and we succeed....... most of the time, but when we hit a supply (or other) problem we can't (unfortunately) wave a magic wand much as we would like to, neither can any other supplier.

I'm sorry that the UK importers are out of stock and also that you have had to wait....

This type of pointless/damaging 'whinge' post helps nobody, it won't make your gauges come faster and makes us look as if we've done something wrong.

If you think it's fair that this post stays I'll bear with that and have posted that openly here for all to see.

If a company states 3 weeks for your order to be complete and delivered and then prompts an additional 2 weeks due to some manufacturer problem or lost item etc,
Are you entitled to ask for your money back without any dispute. ??

I realise 'Hixy' you are p:ssed off as i've had similar problems ordering stuff online with other companies but you just need to handle things in the correct manner.

Legally, you can only enforce delivery dates if you state "time is if the essence" in writing and it is agreed by both parties to the contract.

And no supplier that doesn't have the parts in stock is going to agree to that, so the answer is no!!

A simple resolution that would mimimise impact to customers would surely be to carry more stock in the first place to cover eventualities like this!

DA, you are of course right, but given that the Subaru tuning market is fairly small and specialised, that isn't really an option. As well as that, sitting on stock costs money so will push prices up.

Scoobymania is a relatively small outfit (hope you don't take offense at that ), relying on suppliers and adding value through their knowledge and experience. They could carry more stock, but this would push prices up...

You should be entitled to your money back after 28days, which I believe is a "reasonable amount of time"".

Whether this would be uncluded in the 3 weeks, I doubt it.

Depends what the policy is of the company.

If they take your money first and still don't deliver, then you have a better chance I guess.

It will be worth the wait - the pod in my opinion is a better match than the GGR pod. I got impatient and bought the GGR pod to fit the gauges, but wish I'd waited after seeing the real thing in Mike's car at Donnington.

As for the gauges, Mike is cheaper than the UK distributor! Unfortunately, they're out of stock so there's not a great deal Scoobymania can do other than nag 'em. And if you annoy the sole distributor in the UK too much...

It's like walking a tightrope. Unfortunately scoobymania do get let down by their suppliers. They are good guys and if you ever meet Mike, he's a real through and through enthusiast. Good luck in getting out of a conversation after half an hour if you ask him, "so, what's been done to your car then?"

Supply problems are a reality for all companies, especially with many distributors relying on "just in time" deliveries. An unexpectedly popular product comes along and they're knackered.

Good luck to scoobymania, and all the specialist enthusiasts who supply excellent products to us at reasonable prices! The UK scooby market would be a lot more difficult without you having the courage of your convictions. And the UK would be a quieter place

I might as well chip in on this too,

Your not being fair slagging of Scoobymania for this. They do not have ultimate control their their suppliers / postal companies etc etc. They can't stop this happening, only attempt to fix the problem when it does.

I have been in a similar situation, and you will find that if you had talked to Mike / Gareth before posting this they would quite happily resolved the situation in whichever way you wanted.

I myself got a full refund no quibble even though I had half the stuff (which I sent back of course) - now how could I possibly say thats not *Extremely* good customer service ?

Give them a chance and you will find their customer service is more than excellent.

Hi folks, i haven't met Mike Tuckwood in real life, but have bought a few bits off him in the past, although he couldnt be accused of being the fastest (hey, the guys maybe busy - i know i am), I have found him to be very helpful, very friendly and a job saver when my standard clutch went.

Plus at least he didnt tell me something was in stock and let me drive all the way there to find it wasnt like some other places i've ordered from.

Experiences:
Ordered some Millers OB - did not arrive after three days - called them to find out the order had been mislayed, they apologised and sent it out immediately.
Ordered another three times from them - Stuff always arrived when they said it would, i find them informative and helpful.

Well put Pete.

Mike is SLOW indeed both on and off track - but a VERY nice dude, and he ALWAYS comes through, just give him a little time, he and his products are worth it.

I had some hickups last time with my AP's, Mike sorted it professionally, after some discussion.

(Damn...I cannot believe I'm put in a position where I'm defending Tuckshop... *ehuehueheu*)

To end this discussion...

ALL small suppliers of scoob aftermarket parts will be very vulnerable due to low stock (remember, we're cheap buggers, hence low stock), and dodgy suppliers...not to mention the bermuda triangle...known as Parcelforce Worldwide, simple as that. You pays yer money...even Prodrive managed to fumble with a mates wheelorder.

I've had to wait extra on *ALL* orders from the UK....could be that I'm a foreign bastid, and should recieve that kind of service...I guess it's an inbreed UK thing.

Yers truly

I was discussing this thread yesterday with Mike.

If only people knew what this guy has, is & will be doing for Scooby's I am sure people like hixys would stop and think a little before opening their mouths. As we all know, it's very easy to stand on the sidelines and throw the stones.

It is as a direct result of enthusiasts like Mike Tuckwood, Pete Croney, Prodrive etc. that our cars can be continually developed and enjoyed. Credit where credits due!

I was going to refrain from replying to this pointless thread but knowing the help I have received along the way from Mike & Scooby Mania I felt compelled to add a little something.

hixys, welcome to the real world dude ...... relax a little & you may just enjoy life!

Chris.

Clearly, hixys has had a bad experience with his supplier.

Why should he not air it here? Anyone heard of free speech? Has hixys uttered any untruths?

I am amazed at the way people jump on the defensive.

If a customer has to post something like this in order to get action, then that really is a sad state of affairs.

IME, it is not that things go wrong, because things ALWAYS go wrong, from time to time. No-one can guarantee against all the possible eventualities that might happen
in the supplier chain.

If the item got lost in the post, then there should be a process in place to cater for this. Constant review of procedures, focusing on customer service is what is needed. Is this (e.g buying) process too complicated? How can we make it easier for the customer? How can we make it cheaper/easier for ourselves? What happens if the courier loses the item? etc. etc..

When a customer tell syou that they've had a bad experience with your company, it should be an opporunity for you to understand what went wrong and plug that particular hole.

If you bend over backwards to sort out the problem, you will have a custoemr for life, (as is demonstrated by the comments above)

Now, I am not saying that the supplier in this case, doesn't already do all of the above, BUT if a customer has a problem, then the underlying thinking, should be to sort the problem, not take issue with the customers right to have a moan.

All IMHO, of course.

Presumably, Mike think his quote about not being charged is, somehow, relevant. IMV, it bears no relevance at all. In fact, this looks like a smoke screen, to me.

To Mike:

Look at this from your customers point of view. He has had a moan, you've acknowledged there was a problem and are trying your hardest to sort it.

Don't give him another opportunity to feel let down by thowing in unnecessary comments.

To Dave:

Of course, I can work it out :-) But it really isn't relevant.

i agree with ca

i sometimes get the impression on this bbs that no-one should criticise in any way whatsoever. i had a problem with one of the suppliers regularly featured/mentioned/highly regarded on this bbs. no, i didnt air my grievence publicly, i just didnt spend £2000 with them as i'd planned to.( no, it wasnt scoobymania)
however, the guys entitled to air his views, and at the end of the day, we're paying customers. these companies aint charitys, they earn their business from us, and as a customer he can express his views.
sorry folks, just my twopence worth( which aint worth much!)

Thumbs up

I think the outcome of this thread is a great deal of support and loyalty to Mike, but also to be noted that his company is not perfect (by however small a degree ). I have always been of the opinion that Scoobysport oops Scoobymania were a reputable company in high standing of the enthusiasts and looked forward to the opporunity of getting a pocket money increase so that I could purchase something from them. The general tone of this thread has I feel enhanced their reputation not diminished it , Well done Mike, you've spent a lot of time on line making all those usernames look authentic (especially with the muppet 'DaveTS' one - thats a cracker of a character )

CA - read the thread again as I think you have taken Mikes post out of context. There were quiet a few post before Mikes post about demand money back after 28 days and legal rights and stuff. I read Mikes post to mean that no money had changed hands so he wasnt hanging onto customers money and simple that.

I have known Mike for a while and hes a great bloke to know (especially if you have an impreza ). Knowledgable and always in contact with suppliers to get high quality impreza specific parts. Everytime I see he him he tells me about new products hes trying and testing. Like a lot of companies with high demand he get let down by suppliers and couriers but sometimes these things happen.

just my opinion

cheers
