Hello,
about 3 weeks ago I decided to get all the tar stains off my car, I had chips-away on it about 4 months ago, great job etc.
Anyway the council decided to resurface every road in wakefield all at the same time...as you do when you work in the council planning department
So I borrowed a pad_cleaner_thingy from the sink & tested it on a small area of the car....worked fine so decided to do all the car & remove all the spots.
Next day, lovely & sunny I had a look at her
yep....about 15 dozen loverly scuffs
getting her "buffed-up" today by Sprint Finish, so I can't wait to get home
Moral of the story - don't scrub the car with a brilo pad thingy...or is it only me who has done this then ?
Be honest now, I expect some more people owning up to this one then I won't feel so much of a plonker.
Come on now you know you want to share those mistakes with me.

Shunty, you Muppet
Haven't done anything serious to the car yet myself, but I did try to remove some oil from the living room carpet with bleach
That'll teach me from riding around the house in my new mountain bike
Also, tried to fix our house Alarm and managed to set off the outside bell/siren. Tried to reset the alarm and couldn't shut the thing off for over 2 hrs. Needless to say the neighbours weren't impressed - especially at 11 o'clock at night

Emma is now three and has more sense
than her father?
When I last topped up the washer bottle the ring from round the neck of the screenwash bottle dropped in the tank. I spent ages trying to get it out with no success, then I spotted that it was floating, and the solution was simply to top the bottle up with water and pick it out. D'oh!

Yep, bunny hopping the coffee table was cool
In my defence, it wasn't neat Domesto's It was one of the those surface cleaning spray thingies that just so happened to contain neat bleach
Luckily our house insurance covers such mishaps from idiots like me, but I think they use the more polite term "accidental damage".

As a 12 year old washing my parents car for a bit of pocket money, I found steel wool an excellent remover of marks, tar, dead bugs etc. But like you say the paint scuffs that came through after as the optional extra didn't impress dad.

I used one of those brillo pad sponges on the rear wheel on my brand new motorcycle a couple years back!
Removed the grease nicely... and some of the paint and a nice set of swirl marks!
Not as back as my mate though who removed the flys off the front of his new bike with one... scratched the paint and front plastic screen to pieces..
So you are not alone...
Bleech on the carpet though! who'd do that?!
