The apexi is a very good kit. Are you going to get a remap once fitted tho is prob what most people are going to ask you. If not id stick with an uprated pannel filter untill you are ready for a remap.

Also, take advice from trusted tuners: SOME induction kits can damage the MAF, which can lead to serious engine damage.

By version 5 classic, are you refering to an my99 sti or something else?
My99/00 cars are not overkeen on induction kits as they kill maf sensors, which in turn kill engines.

Nope its a version nothing.
Versions refer to classic sti's and go from 2 to 6, uk and wrx are refered to using MY or model year.

I used the silver blitz induction when i had a my99. Sounded awesome but unfortunately one of the most expensive on the market at around £150.
As above, you're probably best of with a panel replacement unless youre having a remap.
If you're desperate for the APS system, Jap Performance Parts : Home will probably have one.

It's a V5 STI RA (MY99). (see garage)

When I got her it had the crappy HKS mushroom fitted, but I changed back to the standard box with green panel filter.

Away to upgrade the turbo, TMIC to newage STI, injectors, fuel pump etc. And was thinking about changing to induction as well.

And yes it will be getting remapped.

Sorry mate but what power levels are you hoping to make, I only ask because as far as I know he standard setup Is good for 350 if not more. And as you are not going to run a fmic there is no need for a induction kit so I would stick with STD box until you need to. If you were going to fit something like a simtec ecu when you have the car mapped which eliminates the maf then fine run the induction kit
