Ultralite and Rota rims
Hi Guys
Looking to get some news rims and have considered the above for my hatch, are they any good or are they really what you pay for? Also considering some speedline Turinis, I know these are a lot more expensive and brilliiant wheels but are they really worth an extra £100 each?
Will go for what looks best but dont want to replace my standard STI 18's with an inferior cheaper wheel to what I have at the moment, sell a £270 wheel and replace it with a £140 wheel if they are not so good,
Any advice on ultalites, rotas or speedlines would be great.
Thanks
Arron

I had a set of Ultralite's on my RB5 - looked good, much lighter than the standard Speedlines - hit a ridge on some road works (admittedly probably a tad too quickly) but bent 3 of them and cracked the other...

Hi Arron, I presume you have the lusterics on the 330s....what's up with them? There was a post in this section with lots of pictures of cracked/collapsed rota's. I think wheel selection is very difficult for the hatch because of the size/offset and stud PCD...have you looked at the compomotive website? I looked for ages and ended up getting a set of compomotives 2nd hand off of e-bay at a good price. I wasn't worried about changing to 18's as I didn't really want the expense of getting new tyres, I just didn't like the standard 17's. 17 x 8 with a 53 offset and 114 pcd is a very difficult size to get so this limits the options some what! I saw on another post someone was running 35 offset, moved the wheels out to the edge of the arches nicely. No idea what it will be like for handling/bearings with the wider track.

I'm loving the Rota GRAs i've got on mine. Third set of wheels and by far the best. Think it was 19kg with Tyre on for 18". About 2kg lighter (per wheel) than PFFs.
Not a hatch, but gives you the idea:
