It has been on ebay for at least 3 months on and off. I have seen it get three owners in that time. Something is wrong about it. He has got the car at 5000 and it has been 5995 but I wouldnt touch it. Very cheap for a reason and he has owned it in the time its had three owners very strange. I nearly bought it two months ago plus to me the front end seems different to sti's.

Thats the original plate st02 bdo, it comes up as plate change so am guessing somewhere along the line it has had a private plate and now its back on its original.. How would this affect the vin no?

The problem is the VIN code you supplied above ends in O20076 whereas the actual should be 020076 (a zero not an"O") (zero,2,zero,zero,76)

Where was the VIN taken from to get the report, off the car by you, supplied by seller,V5, or sevice book etc.
I have had this with a VW Polo this week, taken the VIN from the car, checked it, comes back like yours, does not match.
Check the V5 two numbers round the wrong way, so info supplied by DVLA to these companies is incorrect.
The car now has to go to the local DVLA for checking, as they don,t believe they make mistakes on the paperwork.
They might not, but the dealer filling out the reg doc's initially must be.

Check his ebay feedback thoroughly as he has the golf back up for sale again which he sold? Also the sti sold for 4800 at some point. Its your choice obviously, it looks a bargain.

Cheers for the input mate how do you know it went for this price? Was you watching it at the time?

He does say in the description he sold twice but the buyers did not want to pay the deposit? hmmm
