Nice one. Now your engine's fixed, maybe you could go to a keyboard breaker and find a caps lock button that works.

I was going to put a version 5/6 sti lump in but to be honest i didnt have a clue what else id need to do the conversion so when i came across a totally standard 30,000 mile engine the same as what mine left the factory with i snapped it up. so fingers crossed it should be a very quick and easy swap obviously there is the power difference but i will just have to do a little more tuning! cant wait to have a blast in her ive been driving a diesel focus whilst waiting for this to be done so need a power fix asap

the guy is called andy from halifax subaru spares he,s charging me £200 pounds to fit it and providing all new fluids/filters etc which i think is very reasonable! the engine itself cost me £900 with 30,000 guaranteed miles on it and a 6 month warranty

Being a 99 I would replace the MAF sensor as a precaution.. has the reason the other engine failed been established? hate for you to have this one go for the same reason.

yeah the bottom end went on it but will bare what you said in mind and will probably change it as dont want anymore problems! will probably come see you at some point for some re-mapping as have been told your the man for the job! what do you reckon you can get out of mine? and around what price do you charge? its a standard turbo 2000 no mapping just a pannel filter and exhaust upgrade.

Prices on website www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk ecuTek remap would suit best.
265 to 280bhp depending on how well it all gels together and whether downpipe cat still present or not

is he building the engine up for you or is it already built up and just needs fitting. Only asking because i have a new bottom end that needs fitting which will involve dismanling and rebuilding the engine could be tempted to give him a ring if he can do that.

most likely because I presume you have the wrx 2001 cam and crank wheel fitted?

need to get a 99 classic crank wheel and cam trigger wheel (passenger side inlet cam).
