i have a newage sti v7 with a prodrive sports cat 3 questions i need answered.

1. will the mid cat pass the mot on its own
2. or will i need the 2 cats to pass the mot ie. downpipe/mid section
3. can i replace the downpipe only with decat or is the 2 pipes parts of the prodrive cat

I'm not sure i know which model you mean by V7 as people have different Versions to each other. What year is it? i'm guessing bugeye? Anyway a Prodrive sports cat is good enough to pass mot as that was the idea.

Another point, isn't the downpipe where the prodrive cat is anyway? Mid section? is this the centre section as the box on that is a resonator unless you have an import in which case i know nothing about them so it could be a cat

on the newage you gave 3 cats uppipe. downpipe. mid section. but my prodrive sports cat at the downpipe flange has a nasty hole so thats why i want to replace just the downpipe and leave the second cat on if it will pass the mot

That diagram is for a wrx, if you have an Sti as far as i'm aware there is no pre cat in the up-pipe and if there is a sports cat on the downpipe the midpipe cat should have been removed (if it is part of PPP). The housing for the mid pipe cat will sometimes still be there even though de- catted.

My Spec C passed the emissions with a catted centre from my old type R so you definately don't need to change the downpipe
