Seemed to have done nothing but reply to emails tonight
Anyway - there's a lot of waffle in there, but I hope you guys got something out of it.
Don't know what technology they're gonna be using yet, but I hear it may be unmanned laser backed up with CCTV / video footage, but its still early days yet. Doing my best to get as much info as possible, cos a mate of mine has just been posted in the department.
One thing is sure, the check locations will be well advertised in the local press and radio, and also have the obligatory "speed check" signs up.

Well, thing is, the big thing about this is that they're gonna publicise the sites, so I don't see a problem.
I'll update as and when I find out more.

Burr - was there a test one in operation in Horbury? the wife said she spotted a "slow down" neon sign as you enter Horbury from Wakey end.
I did notice some strips across the road a while back.
I will mail you for the info.
cheers

Burr,
Cheers m8, read the e-mail this morning. There is mention on there of putting mobile cameras on a bypass I commute to on everyday. They already put mobile cameras on this bypass anyway. This bypass in particular has some nasty bends on it and I think it would be far more useful to put some bump strips down to slow people down coming to these bends.
Damian.

I've got nothing to do with the locations of the speed traps. Apparently, these locations will be the sites of accident black spots as defined by previous accidents and meetings with public representatives and councillors, etc.
We front-liners don't have a say, unfortunately.

The Tw*ts had this at the top of the M32 in Bristol the other day, several unmanned speed guns and linked up to a couple of police vans
Sooooo glad I have laser jammers..... so was able to detect them before I saw them - or rather - they got jammed and I had to turn my device off

Steve - laserjammers(plural), I thought they didn't shoot from the rear, do they ? I thought only front shoots in the UK. I only have a jammer (not plural)...
or perhaps Burr could answer this one ?
