Quite enjoyed the thread about the guy who welded his rear diff on his 4x4 (different forum, cant remember which, think he was a yank tho!).

Sorry but I am going to be serious (for once) and nominate Silent Runnings epic "will it ever run?" engine build. An inspiration to all DIYers, and proof that Scooby engine building/tuning is not witchcraft, only to be performed by the chosen few LOL
