HELP! CRASH! Advise Please
Just crashed my hawkeye. Looks like I need both bumpers, 1 rear light and passenger side rear quarter panel. Anyone give me a rough idea on how much it could cost to repair? Wondering whether to claim on insurance as only have 3 years no claims and dont want to lose them!
Cheers

I'd guess it's an insurance job.
Don't have a lot of info, but front bumper alone is in the order of £500 without fitting or paint.
Give your dealership a call this morning and get up-to-date prices before you do anything else.

Just checked online and a drop of 3years to 1years no claims only ups my insurance from £1100 to about £1300 so looks like its an insurance job. Nice xmas present!

Sorry to hear this mate, but think if its only £200 increase then insurance is definetly the way to go.
Was it just your car that was involved? What happened exactly?

dont forget you have an excess to pay,if your premium is £1100 im guessing excess will be close to £500 ??
but still cheaper than paying yourself, unless you can find the bumpers 2nd hand already painted, that might be an idea then all a bodyshop needs to do is the rear quarter

Bumpers, rear quarter, etc with labour you are looking at £1,500 or so you migh have further unseen damage - suspension/chassis as well.
Get it repaired by a decent (ideally reccommended) biodyshop on your insurance, thats what it is there for.

excess is £350.
Just annoying that was so close to getting 4 years and being able to protect. Am 30 next year though so they reckon insurance goes down then. Fingers crossed.
Think am going to try to get a quote locally and then ring the insurance in a few days.

indeed. But im assuming its going to cost more than a grand to fix; in which case looks like insurance is the only option. Cant find any second hand bumpers online either. Gutted

Rear bumper is about £270 new from Subaru plus painting.
I would imagine that the brackets that hold the bumper on have almost certainly been bent as they are designed to "crumple" to absorb some of the impact so they would probably also need replacing or repairing possibly.
