WRX IMPORTS?
I've got a 97 WRX import that is due to have some repairs on it due to being hit by another driver a couple of weeks ago. They've had the car for a week but as of yet haven't got round to doing the work to it because they say they have some problems finding parts, is this really so difficult? surely not? Would a UK wing go straight onto a Jap Scooby for example? It's currently held by Claimfast and the car's in Braintree Essex.
It's enough to give ya the hump. Quasi.

if they are anything like blade in glos who lied constantly dont believe anything they say to you RE:why they havent done it yet,i had the same crap told to me,parts issues etc, then was told it was all fixed then it wasnt, visited them 3 weeks later,it had only just been started,so give them plenty of personal visits as becuase as soon as i did the thing got fixed alot quicker

all they need to now is the chassis number mate and they can track anything, my mate is in the car parts trade and he gets all my wrx import parts and double checks numbers etc, so they are tryn to pull one mate????

Very interesting. It's weird really because the other driver has already admitted liability and there was a witness too who also said it was their fault and i got a letter recently offering to have the car fixed via a company working for the other side. I don't like the idea that i'm being lied to though, i'll have to keep badgering them as you said, thanks alot guys as this can sometimes feel a bit like me against everybody else, the AA haven't done anything to keep me informed on anything either, the car's insured by Aviva and hers was Fortis. I can't believe they've had the car since the 9th and done nothing to it. It's not even that badly damaged, the right front wing had a dent, the edge of the bumper was scratched and the side light needed a new glass lens along with the indicator being reattached, the car functions perfectly normal in itself.
I was in Asdas in Stevenage and making my way out and just i passed the last turning on my right this woman in a new Pug shot out withiut looking left and i braked and she didn't and just struck my right front wing, nothing really drastic.
I've got a courtesy car at the moment but it's a bloody Vauxhall Insignia, looks ok but the visability out of them is crap. I miss my Impy. Thanks again.

Thanks mate, £29.99 eh? I phoned them this morning ( the garage with the car) and they said it's not on their system yet. The term A holes comes to mind. Thanks again.

A little bit of good news. i did as you said and followed things up and they've begun working on the car finally. Hopefully it won't be too long now as the jobs to do were nothing too big. Thanks again everyone.

Oh pants! I phoned them this morning and they said the parts are on order from Japan and might be a couple of weeks. Doesn't look like i'm gonna see the Impreza at least until the middle of January now. No snow play for me.

i would imagine car workshops and insurance claims are at a high at the mo due to the weather so maybe that explains the waiting.
would'nt you rather they made sure they had the correct parts and ones to replace the original parts like for like? you would'nt want someone swapping your engine internals or bonnet for uk spec ones cos they thought they were the same would you

No, but i got the impression from people here that things could have been quicker especially when i find the person who caused my problem has already got their car back and they're quite happy with it and then i'm told the go betweens thought i was the one to get my car back and was expecting the courtesy car back now. as for phone calls, they only want your number when it suits them, any other time you have to phone them, i can't help but be a bit cheesed off.
Having said that, i wouldn't mind them putting other parts on the car if in their professional opinion it was quite alright to do so, i have to assume they are true professionals and therefore know what they're doing.
Without any trust in them i'd be up a certain creek without a certain paddle.

glad its all getting done.
If its anything like my last repair, i was told new door fitted etc and it turns out the old one was repaired !!! to my then untrained eye i couldnt tell, but later my work colleague used to do body work and pointed out all the tell tale signs, nothing major, good enough job,but still, when a new door was fitted n all that !
the insurance companies blame US for the high premiums, nah, more like the body shops/vets/home repairs etc etc companies !!!!
anyhoo, thats my rant over ha ha at least your car is safe away from the snow !!
