Where can I get one from?

and which of the following would you recommend as a setup?

(background info=currently have a wrx sti version iv type-r coupe, monster exhaust, monster filter, 16" jap silver speedlines)

setup a) blitz induction kit, mongoose downpipe, scoobysport mid section, monster exhaust

setup b) blitz induction kit, scoobysport downpipe, scoobysport midsection, monster exhaust.

Cool

I had a WRX that was UNICHIPPED, I then had a FULL Mongoose (from turbo back) fitted. It improved the power by 20BHP It also did the same on Harj's WRX!!!

Now these 2 cars had been chipped, so you wouldn't get that increase on a non-chipped car, but it's an indication.

Don't bother with a mix & match, just get the complete system. They are awesome!

Contact Rich or Dirk @ Powerstation. They will supply and fit, at a good price!

Question

well i am keeping the monster exhaust, however, which is better then, the mongoose downpipe and midsection, or the scoobysport downpipe and midsection ? which ones gives more bhp, and a louder noise? and the possibility of flames?

Question

Where the f**k are you going to drive that on an island!

Sorry, apart from the abuse I hear the HKS system and filters sound ridiculously loud...

Cool

Christian,

The HKS is loud!!!! I had one of those also!!!

But I am puzzled to wonder why you are keeping part of an exhaust, to add other bits to??? I know other people do this, but Mongoose (and others) have spent £1000's in research to supply a complete system that is perfectly matched!!

Oh....the complete mongoose does give flameouts!!!!!

as i love the monster exhaust that I have, hence why i do not want to replace it! and plus I have never ever seen anyone else with a monster exhaust on their scooby.

so just to confirm, instead of scoobysport, go for a blitz induction kit, with a hks downpipe and hks mid-section ? or...?

Christian - what do you want it to acheive?

If its power, a full 'one-make' system would make sense.

I fitted a full Mongoose system plus HKS Induction kit (loud). It dyno'd before fitting at 244bhp, dyno'd at 284.5bhp (same day) after fitting!

more power and noise I guess. So the HKS induction system is better than the blitz induction kit?

Full mongoose (decat) system.

Love it

Wouldn't change it for the world, unless someone could prove I've got a crap system.

Noise is fantastic

I don't know about 'better than'.... I know that both HKS and Blitz allow a stronger air-flow but then theres possible damage to the Lambda sensor or worse, as by their nature they don't filter as finely (is that a word?) as some other makes.

I had to replace my lambda sensor after approx. 1000 miles but then its been on the car for 5 years so may have been about to go anyway....

regarding the hks induction kit, is it easy to install? and how much is it?

Reading around though, to me personally, it seemed like the blitz induction kit was better, as it doesnt need to replaced, just cleaned unlike the hks? or am I readnig it wrong, as it seems that the hks is not metal.

also, I don't want to change my exhaust backbox, as it is a monster (as already stated), but will I get as much benefit going for the mongoose downpipe and midsection?

Mark - I knew the sensor had failed when instead of accelerating over 4000 rpm, it just spluttered and shook and hissed and black smoke came out the back and the mixture was all wrong and it was undriveable..... and and and... !!

If it goes, you'll know about it!

Christian - Enjoy the HKS - its loud but its a GOOD noise!

As for the downpipe - Some friends have the Scoobysport and really rate it - others like myself and Mark 'BlackScooby' have the Mongoose and really rate that so...

The choice is yours.

The 2 Scoobysport systems are both fitted to UK cars - one MY99 and one MY00.

Mine is a MY95 WRX

Don't know about power gain differences as I haven't tried the Scoobysport one but as I say, they're rated by a lot of people and they sound very good.

And can I just echo the question from bennetm... 'Where the **** do you get to drive it in Jersey?'!! I thought it was a 30 limit all over

30mph is in donkey land (gsy), 40mph in jersey - but then france is only a boat trip away

I am still not sure which one to get regarding a downpipe and mid-section! so difficult to decide.

Wink

Christian - if its one or the other, go for the downpipe. You don't have a cat at the moment in your mid-section and replacing the downpipe removes the one there.

No cats = less restrictive breathing + the monster sucker HKS Induction kit and you're well away!
