Yes, me too. STi7 with ludicrous key. Where from, how much roughly and the all important immobiliser, does it still work afterwards....

Get me one too. Can't believe all the stuff I got to start off with -oversized key (with central locking system de-activated) ,alarm fob ,little box for radio front and then the dealership key ring. Now walk with a stoop and look like I've got a stiffy all the time.I did ask the dealership for a smaller key and they said would look into it.

Gents, i think this is what you are looking for
Now if we can get 10 of us to buy one i think that i might be able to organise a group buy, the only down side is that duty paid in the UK they are going to be in the order of £25!! ouch
But I'm game if you are

IS IT A CODED KEY ,BECAUSE I ASKED AGAIN TODAY AT MY DEALERS,AND THEY SAID THEY COULD GET ME A SMALL KEY BUT IT WOULD ONLY OPEN THE DOORS ,NOT START THE CAR. IF THE ONE ABOVE IS A CODED ONE THEN COUNT ME IN.WHEN AND WHERE ?

Yes, me too...
Only if it is coded though. Never use the key to open the car anyway so would definately have to be one that fired her up as well...
I thought these things were in the region of £100 ???
Might be wrong though.

My STi5 has a normal key with a small button that doesn't appear to do much but then i have the Key-Fob with another 2 buttons. The black one (only) opens the doors, sorry unlocks them, and de-activates the immobilizer (?). The key then operates all the doors and the ignition.
Now if the key above came from a HK dealer chances are i can walk in and get some. Chances are again that when i come through the UK in a few months i can post them locally to a Scooby place for distribution else post them from here with no paperwork by express mail.
It's a pity i didn't see this before cause i'll be in the UK this weekend.

OK, so now I'm confused. I want to replace my HUGE key i.e. the one supplied that does not have the immobiliser and door open gubbins removed. The 02 comes with the factory fit alarm/keyless entry so a chipped key is not required I guess.
If this key is just a blank to be cut then I'm in for one. I would find it difficult to believe that its £25 as a blank?

I was always led to believe that the Impreza has two immobilisers. One as standard from Subaru, which utilises the transponder in the key and a receiver in the column. The other as part of the Thatcham 1 Sigma alarm.
Theory says, that to use a cut key similar to the STi one, you will have to have the standard immobilser circuit bypassed.
Then you're into all sorts of questions over vehicle insurance cover etc..
Then again though, I could be talking complete b0110x...

Yep that's the key? so am i the only one to have one. the blank was a bit wierdly shaped so i got it cut by pro. It is thicker than the normal key so it is quite hard to get cut. Mines not that good with the bonnet for other users but i use a different technique on the hand manoevour!
