Default For attention of members experiencing difficulties accessing Scoobynet.

Hello,
If you do not know about our DDOs attack please visit here first:

Those of you whom are up to speed already...
We know for a fact that most of our issues are now resolved but the fact remains we have pockets of people still experiencing difficulties.

I must remind you that these DDOS attacks are a hostile act and are not our doing, but we continue to work around the clock and will resolve the issue eventually.

Such a large scale DDOS attack will cause these type of connection difficulties regardless of what some so called IT trained members on here would have you believe... We have put in place significant amount of hardware to filter out the unwanted traffic.

If you are personally having trouble accessing Scoobynet and wish to help us do some testing...

Please let me know how long an average topic takes to load from your first click as well as what ISP you are with.

Only do this if your happy to install an addon onto Firefox to help me do some remote testing. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm in Nottingham viewing through Virgin 20mb cable. Apart from the posts i have read on here lately, i have not experienced any issues of late anyway.
Months back i did but now is ok.
I am using my Macbook Pro and Safari atm, but it is also ok via Firefox's latest version for Mac.
If you require any help i will gladly install something into Firefox for you?
I did enough bitching last time so dont mind

Thumbs up

Stu
The problem looks pretty well fixed from where I'm sitting. It's my first time in for several weeks, partly because of the attacks on the site but also because of being busy with other things, and the whole site looks like it's completely back to normal now. Every page and thread I've clicked on so far is loading up as quick as any other sites on my PC.

Keep up the good work!

Stu, mine is still rubbish. It can take TEN clicks-waits to get a topic to load, or post a reply, then it still posts but tells me it's timed out, and "quick reply" is almost always instant.

I'm with Virgin media, 10Mb broadband, using Firefox, but IE8 is no better..

I will do almost ANYTHING to get this site back to speed.

For me, the three hour break was when I was away 'cos I just couldn't be bothered to click, click and click again

Hi Stu, I'm about 4 miles from Alcazar (whos been quite vocal about the poor speed). I have the same internet connection as him and use Firefox on Windows XP. I sometimes get upto about 20 secs to load, but not had a timed out page for a week or so. Most pages load up within 3 seconds or so, some 20 and have had a couple around 30 secs-1 minute recently.

Can help out with tests if you want but I rarely get on around 7am for 30 mins and usually come on around 4.30-5pm after work.

Seems to be fine for me but then it has been for the last 4 to 6 weeks - since all the problems earlier. Using Firefox on both Vista and XP machines on a fairly unimpressive BT BB.

First time on today:
Mine refused to load a reply, timing out, then, next try, did load it, but told me it had timed out again, so I got the duplicate post message.

SOME pages load instantly, others load after several tries.

Better, but no cigar

Yes. please download and install this:
Firebug - Web Development Evolved

Then you will see a little bug in bottom right hand corner of your screen. Click on it to activate firebug and then manually enable the NET option. Once done, you can get a display on your screen showing all the items the pages load and what the load time is for each item. When you get a bad one, screen shot the info for me.

Done that. It asked me to add it to Firefox, which I did.

When I click on the bug icon, it opens a window along the bottom of the screen, 3/4 of which is filled with some sort of coloured text, the rest is a column of stuff about margins etc. Is this correct?

I can't see how, or where, it allows me to select HTML, except that the HTML tab is bold.

Also, sorry, but how do I do a screenshot?

I tried loading a few pages, the ones that timed out also lost the Firebug box, and once it DID load, that box LOOKED normal

Sorry, right mouse on bug and select the "Enable all panels option"

Also, sorry, but how do I do a screenshot?
Maybe another member can help with that one as I am nipping out mapping and wont be back until much later on tonight... easiest way is to press "PrtScreen" key and then open an E-Mail in outlook and press Ctrl + V to paste the picture into and e-mail and mail it to me on advertise@scoobynet.com

Also, you want the NET option, not HTML, sorry.
Once you have it, drag that section up so it shows all the info you need to screenshot.

Still getting a lot of timeouts when posting replies etc.

This is from work (BT) and home (Virgin), different PCs.
