Oven and a bit of sikoflex / tigerseal when you're putting them back together. I don't think the booth would get hot enough to soften the seal. You could go down the hot gun route as when you removed the votex.

Not sure if it works on a 2004 but on my bugeye I just used a long pair of tin snips through the hole where the bulb fits and cut the orange lens in to pieces then just shook all the bits out

I did not dare put them in the oven

Job done, thanks guys, took about 15mins in the end but it was a new lamp and did'nt have to remove from the car, thanks for that link Madisonmonkey, my subaru dealer Keith Price Subaru took the trouble to supply me with a full copy of the original thread by Talizman with the new lamp when it came down today, how's that for dealer service?
While i'm here has anyone stripped a hawkeye HID lamp to paint the inside black, maybe have to do another thread
