Purchased my MY99 a year ago for 16K.

A year and 15K miles later, I sold it two weeks ago, for 12K

Dealer now has the car on the lot for 15.5K

500 quid depreciation in a year, not too shabby at all

Andrew.

But you lost £4K, thats the true depreciation, you dont honestly think they will sell it for the sticker price do you? No one pays whats on the screen these days.

Hope you got a good deal on your replacement.

Hey John,

I knew someone would put that argument forward.

I agree that it cost me 4K, but the point I was making was that the price a dealer would get for the car had only dropped 500 quid in a year.

I would fully expect that the dealer would not sell the car for less than 15k, which is still only a one grand drop in a year.

And I haven't bought my replacement yet. That has to wait a couple of weeks till I get back to Australia and by my HSV

See you at the cat

Andrew.

Cool

Went do my local dealer today to talk about STI's (but hats another story ) and they had a few MY00 various colours and mileages and most were around the 17K mark, like JF said its the haggle price but values seem to be good ATM.
