Question

This is going to sound like such a naff question but I gotta ask it.

Everybody talks about improving the performance of their cars. Does anybody know where you can go and improve your skills in handling your car ( Not that I'm a crape driver or anything you understand )

Always room for improvement me thinks. Just want to be bit more skillfull.

Best thing to do, is to get chased by the filth !!

Only joking..

It depends on which way you want to improve.

If you want to be safer, go for an advanced driving course. Try BSM.

On the other hand, if you want to be more of a dare devil, try and find some rally school. That should do it.

I had aa test drive some months ago in a Honda Integra R, and the guy was a rally driver. Needles to say, the guy could drive, and made me feel like a woose, when normally my driving kicks ****.

Wetter the Better is a course run by Don Palmer at the MIRA wet handling circuit nr. Nuneaton. A whole day of 1:1 tuition from professional drivers in your own car. Since it is a wet circuit you get to know how your car handles on the limits of its grip and beyond in a safe environment. Everybody rates this highly and its on my list of things to do eventually as the only time I experienced the limits of my Impreza was just before I wrote it off in a massive crash. Incidentally it did not behave as I imagined it would and I wish I had had a few hours sliding round a wet circuit sometime before. Cost is somewhere between 2-3 hundred pounds. Contact

So sorry to hear your car is no more. Scoobys are performance cars and I want to be able to handle the car safely but still enjoys the cars performance.

That course you highlighted does look good. Well worth the money...

How many car mods can you get for £300 quid

The Wetter the Better course is 1:1 tuition but only 2 hours long, not the whole day.

I know what you mean about car mods, something I have thought about myself, but personally would rather spend the money improving my driving skills first although the bumpsteer for £100 does sound tempting.

Neil.

You are right, an AWD car on the limit or over does not react as you expect. It wasn't until I did 'wetter the better' that I discovered this. I'd just been using RWD techniques as that was what I was used to. That didn't work at MIRA when I was trying to control the car over the limit.
Its definatly a far more productive use of your dosh than a rumbling exhaust. :-)
