help please !! very sick impreza
need some help , my car is very sick
check engine light is on , when trying to start , it turns over and over for ages and then if im lucky begins to fire up and run at very low revs , under 600 i would say , have to push right down on the pedal for a while before the revs get a bit higher , any idea's ???

1st thing would be to check the error code.
As you haven't specified, I'm assuming you have a classic, so try this: Scoobypedia | Trusted knowledge for everything Subaru | Knowledge / Reading ECU Fault Codes
But if you want more help, best to describe what year/model you have, and the modifications at the very least.

thanks Joey , i have a terzo ,
just been out and i have the fault codes 12 and 21 , 12 being starter signal and 21 is Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor , where would i find this sensor ? thanks again , dave ..

Normally with the coolant temp sensor the car is ok when warm, its just when cold its a real pig
Not exactly sure on the location, normally in the coolant so would say rad area.

The coolant temp sensor is fitted into the water rail which runs under the inlet manifold from left to right (the radiator top hose connects to it). you will find it just below and behind the alternator and it has 2x wires gong to it.
If you need to order one then it has a part number of 22630AA041 - Retails at 39.11

right thats all sorted ! the plug wasnt on properly , ecu reset no faults , all good until i checked the oil ,, its a creamy colour , bloody great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do some shopping around for the replacement head gaskets, can vary between 4-800 quid depending where you go and what they do, normally you will need a skim on the heads, and as there are 2 of them thats where the cost is
