You're asking the question a bit the wrong way round. There isn't one single "best" answer. What is best for you depends on how much power you want the thing to end up making and how much you're prepared to spend to get there.

The standard VF28 turbo is fine for up to 330bhp or a little more. If you want to go beyond that you will be looking at further supporting mods. Intercooler, fuel pump and injectors will quickly come into frame for replacement - so tell us where you want to get and the recommendations can start from that.

As above
New age sti VF35/37 is a nice genuine scooby choice, 340bhp when mapped
Md321h is great on my mates 2.2, he has 390bhp with a front mount

I had a vf28 and it was really nice to drive and good on the track. It packed in a couple of weeks ago and ive now got an 18g and the car is transformed. Its a very nice turbo, cant wait to see how it is on the track

18G is a lovely turbo on a 2.0L
Very similar spec to the newage sti turbos!

GT35R would be a bit laggy on a 2L Very nice big turbo

Suppose a target BHP would be handy!
