Default What does Prodrive Performance Pack consist of

Hi,

Im sure this topic has probably been done to death, but I cant find a definitive answer as to what a PPP actually consists of. I know of the following parts :

Prodrive Backbox
Intercooler Y pipe
PPP ECU

But I cant find which exhaust pipe it comes with. Some say a de cat downpipe, then others say a decat centre pipe. Is it PPP different for Classic, Bugeye, Blobeye, Hawkeye ?

And what about air filter, does this stay the same ?

The reason I ask, is that I'm trying to peice together a kit similar to the prodrive setup prior to maybe getting a remap. As I've mentioned in a previous thread on here, I'm not up for massive power gains, but certainly a little more torque wouldnt go a miss to help its day to day driveability.

Thanks again.

afaik, on a classic it consists of a ramair panel filter, a stainless decat centre pipe and back box ,(original downpipe remains) , silicone y pipe from turbo to intercooler, decat centre pipe and back box, prodrive ecu, prodrive quickshift, bilstein shocks and eibach springs. think thats it.

And Mintex brake pads

The decat centre section was an STI resonated version.

The suspension parts listed above apply to the handling pack. Prodrive would not supply PPP handling pack on cars with 15 inch rims.

Tony Burns has thrown in a googly today by suggesting a different size restrictor pill was also supplied. Defo on the MY99, I am still waiting for him to reply to wether or not the MY97 required one.

Tony is probably the person to ask on the 03WRX. Having had a 53plate blob I have to agree, they need all the help they can get. That's why I went back to my old classic and PPP'd it on the cheap...

Have a look here
PRODRIVE DECAT PIPE on eBay (end time 04-Nov-09 15:16:07 GMT)
for a Prodrive newage decat centre section (not resonated by the looks of it).

If you live in Notts that is, as it appears to be collection only....

Im still none the wiser Ive looked at a diagram that someone posted, and it appears there are :

Up Pipe with Cat
Down Pipe with Cat
Mid Pipe with Cat (Is this aka the centre section)
Rear pipe with resonator (in my case no resonator)
Muffler

On the PPP for a MY03 WRX which of these pipes gets ProDrived ?

Thanks

I know that the 03 WRX PPP has a decat mid pipe. I think it also has a smaller resonator in the rear pipe.

It also has the ECU, intercooler pipe and Prodrive backbox (which you already know.)

The STi PPP also gets a high flow cat downpipe (doesn't have a cat in the uppipe.)

I thought all the 03 cars dropped the up-pipe cat.

Thanks for the responses guys, I'll keep an eye on that decat pipe in Notts his-n-her-scoobs as it would appear that, this is what I need. I already have the rear pipe before the backbox without a resonator, and I have a Prodrive Backbox installed on my car too. Just need the decat pipe and intercooler Y pipe, then next year a remap

So now it's very clear exactly what a PPP consists of - blimey I'm more confused than ever - and my own car has got a Prodrive Pack - has anyone got a difinitive answer to the original question
PS. No I can't answer myself - I don't know my up-pipes from my down-pipes I'm afraid - I just pay a man who does know

WRX Blues, from what I can gather from things I've picked up. The standard WRX PPP on a Newage Impreza would be :

PPP ECU
Decat MidPipe (aka centre pipe)
PPP Backbox
Silicon Intercooler Y Pipe

If its and STI with PPP its the same but with :

Sports CAT downpipe

You're best off decatting the up-pipe and replacing the downpipe cat with a sports cat if you are going to get remapped.

Click on my car and it will show you the mods I have done for 287BHP.

Here's a Canadian site with a pic of the components of a PPP for the 03

Four Star Motorsports: Performance Packs

At the top is the backbox
next down is decat centre section (non resonated)
then a sports cat
bottom is the silicone y pipe
left is ecu and right is decat up pipe.

Didn't the Blobeye STI PPP kit have a Prodrive sports cat downpipe with second half decat, standard centre pipe and Prodrive backbox?
