Default Prosport-good deal?

Don't know much about gauges but this seems a decent price for new
PROSPORT SMOKED GREEN BOOST GAUGE KIT - BAR SUBARU on eBay (end time 25-Oct-09 21:10:57 GMT)

What you guys think? Decent make at a decent price?

Also if you had to choose between an oil pressure or an oil temp gauge which would be more benificial?

Cheers
Ryan.

I have just bought this exact one from the same seller, its fitted and working fine. to be honest i wish i had done a bit more research and went for the dearer prosport premium which has a lot nicer features.
My plan is to have all three boost, oil pressure and temp in a centre dash gauge pod.
This one one is reasonable quality, the instructions arent great but you get there.the wires are attached internally to the gauge i prefer terminals but it works fine ,Fitted it yesterday.

No they arent
Make sure you get the better (more expensive) stepper type ones.
Look in the group buy section there is a group buy on them from Xyber Autos.
Must be hundreds of people on here with them now and only a small amount of problems.
The senders can be damaged if mounted direct to the chassis (they cant take the shocks) or if they are to close to the turbo (cant take heat) mount them properly and they are reliable

You get a small black box which you mount under the bonnet. You 'T' into intake/inlet as normal with a mechanical gauge and plumb it into said black box. This transducer (black box!) then sends an 'electrical' signal to the gauge to save running vacuum hoses through the bulkhead.

I am having trouble with my elec stepper gauge. The connection from the boost to the gauge is terrible. You have to hold the connection in place and as soon as you let go the guage flashes and the dial flickers

Do a few searches on here: there have been a number of problems similar to the one above. The connectors or that part inside the gauge that it connects TO, seem suspect.

Could be a bad batch.

Never any problems with Defis though
