Default PAGID Brake Pads for Hawk Eye

Hi,
I have a MY06 Hawk Eye WRX STi with PPP and it's needing some new pads all round. Subaru dealer quoted me £565 fitted, I nearly fell to the floor :-/ The pads were over £190 per pair plus VAT

Spoke to my uncle who runs a generic garage and he could get me the pads at £120+VAT per pair. However, my Uncle's done some ringing round and can get me some PAGID pads for £20 plus VAT. I don't know much about PAGID brake pads other than the brake specialist my uncle uses says these are factory fit on Porsches. I've just been on the PAGID website and they say they are high performance pads for performance cars that need a lot of stopping power.

Does anyone on here know anything about PAGID, and if they'll be OK on my Scoob?

Cheers, Toby

Pagid pads are excellent and most suitable but £20 sounds very suspiciously cheap??? RS421 black (porsche factory material) for road use or RS42 blue/RS29 yellow for track use. All in the £150 front/£100 rear territory but good value. Call Alyn at asperformance on 0191 4103770 for the genuine article at decent prices, or look at his website AS Performance - Rally Motorsport Specialists

That's what I thought, but supposedly they're so cheap as bought in bulk, and at trade price. I'll get my uncle to double check them. I'm going to be using them for the road so it should be RS421 black I need? Are there any others or are they the only ones for my scoob for road?

Cheers, Toby

You won't get performance pads for £20.

Give me a call for options and prices - 01462 488244

They don't have to be performance pads per se, just ones suitable for my Scoob. Don't want crap that's just gonna fall apart and not stop me though :-/

I'd be real wary of using cheap pads on an STi.

Pagid are a very good brand (I think I remember reading they are used to stop the TGV trains) but there are obviously different compounds. The ones everyone raves about (RS421) are around £150, so these £20 must be something else.

The wife's last car (Corolla 1.6) was fitted with Pagids from new, but I doubt they were RS421s!
