Default Tyred out!!

I've got a MY96 V2 STI 555 ( the one in my avatar ) and I'm after some new tyres to replace the budgets I bought it with. I currently have 215/40/17's on at the moment, but I've spotted a cheap set of new Toyo's in 215/45/17 fitment.

What is the correct fitment for my vehicle and will it really make much difference if the sidewall is slightly higher?, the car has standard STI Bilstein suspension and is quite hard, would the higher sidewall take the harshness out of the ride or will it really upset the handling?, I'm not too bothered about the speedo being inaccurately as I use my Tom Tom to read my speed

the 45s may rub a tad on hard cornering but not to much . it wont adversly effect the handling .

215/40/17 is the correct fitment for your car. I would bother upsetting this balance for the sake of saving a few pennys.
