what is this called?
as per title, what is the "proper" term for the black "funnel" with mesh on that directs air to the turbo?
i have a nasty rattle and seems to be from this part, it does seem slightly loose and if i push it so it is tight then the rattle stops, i have just noticed a bolt has sheared off that holds it into position (as you look at it the bolt on top right)
i assume this is important as it directs the air, what are my options to fix this as its blo*dy annnoying me now, although at first i did think "oh no, bottom end has gone again!!" suppose i should be grateful its not that!.
any suggestions gratefully received.
thanks

lots of people remove them when fitting a aftermarket decat downpipe so can be tossed aside, prob a good idea to get it sorted threading kit and a bigger screw ;-)

thanks for that , so how important is this heat shield??
if it was removed will it affect the airflow?
could i swap it for a "turbo blanket" ?
cant stand the rattling any more, its driving me insane

i think alot of people remove it esspecialy if they do track days actually has the opposite effect and holds heat in. IMHO i actually think its there to stop u touching it by mistake when under the hood.
