i got a quote from swinton insurance a few month ago for a sti they quoted me £640 when i rang them today to sort it out now i have the car they told me it would be £1700.

when i ask how it was that much now they said that they should never have giving me the quote for £640 via the internet because of the vehicle being an import.

the thing is i insured my clio with them thinking that when i got the impreza it would be a simple case of swapping the policy. now that i wont be staying with them they are going to charge me £50 to cancel the policy, which i think is some what unfair seen as i only went with them because of the false infomation they gave me.

Gary has a subaru and mods himself and posts on here so knows what you are talking about when you ask for a quote etc.. I don't know Fraser but am sure he would also know etc..
It just makes a change from the "Its not on our system" "whats a decat" etc..

just for a laugh ive just put all my details in to swintons internet devision as i did before and guess what they gave me a quote again, even though on the phone today they told me they cant give instant internet quotes for imports.

its gone up to £723 but its still not the £1700 they quoted me today

he did ask how i had heard of you and took the persons name. to be fair the microphone on my phone has just about had it and he could hadly hear what i was saying so the call ended before we sorted the details out properly.
