Anyone forget how quick their Scoob is?
I guess this question's only aimed at turbocharged Scoob owners, who don't use their cars everyday. Mine's just a weekend plaything, but f*ck me it always surprises me how fast it is when I take it out for a blast. It's only standard 276bhp, although if one did drive it everyday I can see why people would just get used to it and hanker after more power.

I drive mine everyday but in traffic and residenatial areas, so barely go above 3000rpm and sometimes I even get into 3rd!! But less than five minutes away I can be in the mountains and tarmac stages that would not be out of place in a WRC event. Thats when I feel what 480 bhp feels like and it is fast. Do not want more power. If I really need a fix I take the hillclimb WRX which is a whole different experience.

I have a 1991 82ps Mini Cooper during the week and a 370ps MY00 Classic in the garage waiting to be fixed, I have not driven the Impreza in the last week since driving the mini.

mine may only be a 1.6GL and it has bee off the road for 8 months following an accident in January but it is still quicker than the 1.1 Fiesta that I have been driving for the past 6 months since the insurance took back their 1.6TDCI Focus

I stepped out of our 1.4 tdci fiesta van yesterday and into my 53 wrx. Immediatley I was reminded just how fast these cars are.
That's good becuase I use the scooby everyday and after 3 months I am pricing up a remap. I said I wasn't gonna change much on this as it is my everyday car. hmmm, well see.

Drive mine daily - stop/start lots of lag and gutless off boost, more rattles than a snakepit and rubbish squealing cold brakes.
But just sometimes I find a clear stretch and it all comes together - 2nd and 3rd gear with the turbo at full chat...

Ha, compared to all of your cars I am driving a slow car anyway!!! Daily driver is a 2004 WRX Waggon.
I don't often 'open the taps' but today funnily enough I was eager to get home and yea, when you don't often press on it can surprise you how quickly even 225bhp can feel!

Driven on the daily commuting grind really doesn't show what these cars can do. In fact it throws a spot light on their drawbacks, but given a bit of decent road and some application of the right foot, there are few cars around that'll make you grin harder.
We're lucky to have them. We forget that sometimes!

I really notice it, I drive my works van most of the time which is a transit connect that is loaded full of kit and is limited to 68MPH. I normally get to drive the scoob once or twice a week.

I drive mine everyday (Newage STI 340BHP) and i know it pretty quick for a commute car, but you just get used to it, a weekend driving the Auto Discovery soon sorts that !
God its going to feel ridiculous when i retire it from every day duties send it to the clinic for a bigger turbo and get a diesel

i use mine as a daily drive, mostly bimbling around sub 3000rpm..in fact, ive even driven for about 40 miles and tried not to set the dump valve off, just coz i love the low grumble...but when doing say 60 in 4th and knocking it into 3rd so that the turbo is on full chat, i think thats when i really notice the power. Im sure im not the only biker on this site, but for anyone who forgets how fast their Scoob is, im sure my fellow bikers will agree when i say, its not until youve had a superbike off the road all winter and you have that first ride of the new year!! fjn hell..THAT always takes a bit of getting use to!!

I don't really forget mainly as I drive it most days,
but when I am driving up and down the country for work in a much lesser power car its great to get back in the Impreza, makes me appreciate it more rather than forget how quick it is if that makes sense.
